Poor little sad guy on the right could do with letting some of that love into him, otherwise neither of them are going to get much happier.
I used my old watercolour pencils for this (and my lovely new fineliners) because several years ago I had some friends who I thought I had unrequited love for, and it made me rather unhappy rather a lot of the time. It was around that point that I really began to draw a lot and my watercolour pencils were my favourite things back then. It was very appropriate to revive them here and combine them with fineliners for extra vibrance.
